Day 37 - The Arrogance of Specialness

Both yesterday and today I've been tired, miserable and really hungry. I have not done my exercise in the morning, both days I've put it off til after work.  Pull Ups laughed at me, although after early failure I finished out with the Inclines.  Likewise today, Push Ups had my number at the end of the second set; I was so frustrated. Push number 7 in set 3 ended with me roaring with rage and then collapsing. I finished them on my knees and wanted to cry.
Patrick said it would get hard, but my ego told me that would only apply to the other people. Fool!  It's bloody hard and it hurts.

Through the gloom however there remains the fact that we all have completed 37 days of discipline. We've made positive choice after positive choice over an extended period of time and for that we can all feel proud.  But only for a second; long enough to steel the backbone and plunge onward, to infinity and beyond!

  1. I couldn't do the push up properly yesterday either, failed at about the same number, and likewise, I thought I'd nail them easily now.

  2. I am about to blog about the same sentiments as you. Am tired and hungry too. I am also stressed as I am juggling so many balls now that I am back in the office. I miss my naps with the baby.

Good to know we are in this together.

  3. Phew - I thought it was just me feeling like this. I'm not actually sure I can exercise today.

  4. We are all in this together as I am feeling similarly.. hence long reply to Tracey. Will have to have another cup of coffee to stave off the hunger. Luckily my parents in law have the mother of all coffee machines.... makes a spectacular cup. Kevin, I will wave at the Tunnochs factory as we drive by today for you. Loving being in Scotland.

  6. Way to blog it out man. This is the point of having a community, we're all suffering here, and we all wake up and get our asses kicked day after day. And somewhere in there the magic happens!
