I used to enjoy heading over the road for a late-lunch, watching Champions League games and supping on beer instead of working. My boss has been known to phone from the pub asking me to join him.
There are now 42" TVs, with all the channels, fixed to the wall at 10 metre intervals in my office. Ridiculous!
If I move my neck roughly 10 degrees to the left I can watch Andy Murray versus Ivan Ljubicic (it's currently 5-4 in the 1st). Whilst I and the rest of the drones are all happy that we won't miss out on such important sporting events in future (Murray just broke him, 6-4, get in!), I am saddened that I won't have the excuse to play truant and abuse my body during work hours any longer. My mind is not being good is it? There's something about football-viewing that demands I be in a pub, eating terrible food and drinking over-priced beer. Why? Maybe these TVs are a sign, a helping hand? Now I no longer need to sit in the pub in the afternoon to see Arsenal make a mess of things when it matters. Some re-wiring in the office may re-wire my brain. Life is changing, for the healthier.
Today's exercises were alright, that was up until the Shoulder Press and Planks. I gurned my way through the end of the Shoulder Presses, then quickly transitioned to the Planks; I've no idea what Patrick was talking about when he said that we may enjoy these? After the third one I collapsed, rolled onto my back and just lay there for a full minute. There was nothing I could do but lay there, every ounce of strength was drained from me. Empty! That's the first time I've felt like that during PCP exercise. I've found differing exercises tough at different stages, but that was the first time I'd driven myself to the point of complete and utter exhaustion.
Interested to see what these Jumps and Creeps bring to the table; excruciating pain appears to be on the menu, just help yourself.
Bring it on!
(Murray trailing in the second set)
Only one minute in the foetal position? Well done, champ!
ReplyDeleteAgree Kevin. It looks like we are moving into excruciating territory! Not sure what and when we are supposed to be enjoying about it. Knackered was the word that came to mind yesterday, and am sure today with the new regime will be no better.
ReplyDeleteGood luck today!!!
