Day 85 - Next Level Commando

We head off to Bonny Scotland tomorrow evening, so I've been sporting my Tier II wardrobe this week.  Old jeans and old t-shirts, nothing too hideous.  However, this morning I must have been still asleep when loading the backpack, because once I got out of the shower at the office I realised that I had forgotten to bring any underwear. Normally this would not be a concern as I'd just go commando and nobody would be any the wiser. The problem today, however, is the old jeans. I couldn't say exactly how old this pair are but there is a considerable amount of fraying around the posterior inner thigh.  If I bent over I'm pretty sure the boys would be on show.
Should I have worn my cycling shorts under my jeans? Probably. Am I going to change now? No.

Workout went well today...
Rope - uneventful
Pistols - nasty, hit failure with one hand on post in 3rd set. Resorted to two hands to lift myself back up for the rest of that set, after that just used the one hand and failed after 3 reps on the final set.
Floor Jumps - Did all 5 sets of 22 jumps, dashed back to my mark in between to keep a true 15 second gap. Breathing very, very hard by the end, legs wobbly.
Front Shoulder Raises - Felt this in the uppermost region of my chest at first, really uncomfortable. A similar feeling to the pain I experience during Chest Dips. Quality depreciated as we went on, 9 reps was sufficient by set 6.
Chicken Wings - The pain below my collar bone, in my chest dissipated as these went on. Did all the reps, but lots of heaving and grunting required.
Shoulder Fly - WAHEY! My first flying door jamb incident! I didn't secure the jamb far enough into the corner of the door and my first pull saw it fly and hit me in the chest. That made me laugh. I have read of others getting bashed in all manner of places by their jambs and bands, so glad to have broken my duck and that I struck myself in a safe region of the body!
V-Sits - resorted to bent knees after set 1, felt this in the legs as it wore on and gave in by 8 reps in final set.
Side Crunches - Gave up after 2 sets. Felt horribly nauseous, really thought I was going to barf.  I guess that's what proper failure sets will do to you?
8MA - will squeeze this in before bed, after last minute packing and organising.

There were times in there today that I wanted to give up. My mind saying I've done all this good work for 84 days, I'll just lay off today, vacation coming up, it won't make a difference. Dug into the mental toughness reserve and bashed through it. I won't lay off, I will enjoy my vacation when it comes, to push past the finishing tape will make a difference. Sprint to the finish!

  2. Is it a concern that I have a mental image of your jeans in my head now?
