Squeezed this in on Sunday morning. It's been a busy period and I didn't prepare for this event as I would have preferred to, but that's of my own doing. The lesson for me is to plan more effectively for optimum performance, yet the flip-side is that I do feel happy having managed to keep so many balls in the air lately.

A longer course in an altogether different location from June's effort. Hot and humid weather conditions, a beastly hill 3kms into the bike course, and an extra 5kms on the bike and 2kms on the run definitely combined to slow me down, but I think it best not to compare the two events. Rather I shall evaluate each event in it's own right, and the only way to make a fair comparison is to compete in both events next year.
Needless to say PCP training got put aside on Sunday, as it did on Saturday unfortunately - Another midnight finish on Friday night, followed by a workshop all day Saturday, after which I collapsed in bed and got as much rest as possible before the 6am alarm clock for the triathlon.
Gave myself a lie-in this morning, got up at 7. Biked to work today, and will have to ride home before hitting the skips and band work, looking forward to it all. I've a feeling I will sleep well tonight.
Kevin, you are a machine!! II an barely skip for 5 minutes rather than your 1.5 hour continual effort in a triathlon.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on doing it. I agree with Tracey, but that is why you have got that amazing 6-pack. If I did as much as you do I would be a totally different body shape by now. I look at your pics once in a while to inspire me to keep going. It also inspires me to think post-PCP life. Thank you for that (although I will unfortunately not be doing triathlons).
ReplyDeleteShoot man, you are making the rest of us look bad! Congrats on the triathalon... your efforts are definitely making a mark!
